Gordana Brelih

Fibre artist

What impresses me about her pieces is the amount of work she puts into each piece. She must devote hours to each artwork.
The result from all the stitch helps to create a 3D effect and raises the exterior. I found that this happened with one of my faces which I embroidered. This was only achieved by reworking on top of each layer and this practice not only allows for developing a depth of shade and colour but starts to lift the surface giving the 3D effect.

This artist emphasis the urgency for me to increase the time spent on my work to gain the effect that I want. Only time and work will create the look I want, no short cuts.
